Hi! My name is Erica. I’m 33 years old. I teach chemistry in college and do research in environment chemistry. I’ve been married for 8 years to an exceptional man who never fails to support me and accompany me in all my projects. Since I started studying chemistry, I’ve adopted knitting as a hobby. Over the years. I’ve added loom-weaving and sewing to expand my creativity.
Just over a year ago, I ventured into drawing mandalas. The first works were simple. As I gained experienced, I added complexity and additional materials. Today, my studio consists of a beautiful drawing board. Many microfibers and pens, markers, watercolor pencils and pastels, pencils and charcoal, pastels, watercolors, and many brushes. Besides measuring tools like compasses, rulers, squares, and scales, I have more than I need. I’m quite a fan of art supplies, which is a problem where I live. I’m from Argentina, and for some years we’re in a recession, reducing imports and increasing prices. Good art supplies are scarce and they are very expensive.
This blog is for sharing my creations, and for a virtual art journal for myself. I’ll also try to share my impressions of the supplies that I work with and the interesting tips I learn and adopt. To be clear: I am not a professional article and I don’t have an art degree, so this isn’t an academic blog. I’m an enthusiast, dedicated to teaching since childhood.
